Mr. Anant Agrawal
Anant Agrawal is an independent consultant providing services to established companies and startups in the areas of systems and semiconductors.
Prior to starting his consulting practice, Mr. Agrawal was the President and CEO of inSilica, a Santa Clara, CA-based fabless semiconductor company focusing on the delivery of customer specific SOC products.
Previously, Mr. Agrawal was Vice President and General Manager of the Processor Products Group at Sun Microsystems, where he was responsible for all microprocessor development at Sun. He joined Sun in 1984 and participated in the development of the SPARC architecture. Later, he was one of the principal designers of the first implementation of the architecture. Mr. Agrawal was among the first recipients of Sun's President's Award for outstanding achievements in 1992.
He began his career as a design engineer for Memorex Corporation and then joined STC Computer Research Corporation, where he was the lead technical designer of the floating point unit for an IBM compatible mainframe.
He holds a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the MS University of Baroda, India and an M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University.
